Southern Land Company is a Nashville-based real estate developer, with major properties in Philadelphia. This includes The Laurel—the tallest residential building in Philadelphia, featuring high-end condos on the top floors, dedicated amenity floors, and world-class commercial programming at ground level, featuring Equinox and a Schulson restaurant.

Cohere was engaged to design the distinct brand identity for the multifamily apartment experience connected to The Laurel. Leaning into the exclusive location, elegant details, and world-class design, 1909 Rittenhouse became a coveted lifestyle apartment brand, leasing up faster than anticipated.

The brand name was updated to a more specific reference to the 19th street location which locals and visitors alike denote as a Rittenhouse Square address, a practical identifier as well to the apartment entrance that is set apart from the rest of the building and condo entry.

We needed this building to stand out, and it did.
