Account Management Apprenticeship Role

Cohere’s Apprenticeship Program is designed as a system of training for a new generation of practitioners in the fields of creative storytelling, design and impact.

People who are best suited for our Apprenticeship recently graduated or are transitioning in their career. Since this is a small yet mighty team culture, apprenticeships are nimble enough to create the experience you need for your desired career trajectory.

The Accounts Apprentice will play a vital role in supporting accounts tasks and engaging with clients. We’re looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who is open to feedback and can juggle multiple tasks effectively.

This apprenticeship is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of design and business. You’ll be paired with a mentor who will also serve as your direct supervisor throughout the program. After orientation, you’ll set personalized goals and are encouraged to explore various aspects of the agency. We’re seeking someone eager to learn and committed to collaborating with us to ensure a rewarding experience.

Unlike traditional internships, as an apprentice, you’ll be an integral part of our team from day one, gaining hands-on experience and responsibility. Working alongside our creative and account teams, you’ll provide essential support to Cohere’s account managers. Responsibilities

Work independently to perform all work-related tasks in a timely manner, organizing priorities and deliverables effectively. Work with a high degree of autonomy, and will need to show discipline and accountability with assigned tasks.

Work directly with accounts and creative to help achieve the project goals and increase collaboration amongst team members.

Assist leadership in business development and managing projects, including tasks related to: brand discovery, rebranding, website design and development, and ongoing marketing.

Develop a thorough understanding of each client’s industry and business through diligent research. 

Work collaboratively with clients and teams to identify solutions for critical business issues within existing client relationships. 

Assist in ensuring a project is managed properly in Asana and with other key task management tools, following agency processes.

Assist in the development of marketing plans, strategies, and other business development needs. 

Responsibilities Detailed

Account Management (Client)

  • Support multiple open accounts and projects at once.

  • Coordinate, plan, and attend meetings on-site and remotely as needed

  • Develop a thorough understanding of each client’s industry and business through diligent research.

  • Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to identify solutions for critical business issues within existing client relationships.

  • Keep clients and co-workers updated on the progress of projects, budget status, milestones and client feedback.

  • Support the client and the lead Account Executive by maintaining regular contact with both, ensuring that communication flows effectively.

  • Support the creation of opportunities to help maintain or improve client satisfaction.

  • Help with timeline management and other administrative tools.

Project Management (Internal Team)

  • Supporting, identifying and driving priorities and deliverable deadlines for the team.

  • Support project management and time tracking with supervisor to manage successful projects.

  • Make suggestions for improvement to internal processes and help implement.

  • Work independently to perform all work-related tasks in a timely manner, managing personal priorities and deliverables effectively.

  • Follow approval procedures and pay close attention to detail to ensure quality at every step of the process and minimize errors.

  • Contribute to the advancement of Cohere’s brand and culture with an eye for detail and quality of work output.

Compensation & Employment Structure

The Apprenticeship is a hybrid remote, part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week) based in either our Baltimore or Philadelphia locations. We expect the chosen candidate to spend 2 full days in the office, with the option to work remotely in our hybrid culture. Travel for client visits and meetings may be required, and all expenses will be reimbursed, along with necessary technology costs.

You’ll receive a monthly stipend of $1,600 for the 6-month program, working closely with the Cohere account management team and a direct supervisor. After orientation, you’ll set personal goals and explore various aspects of the agency. We encourage eagerness to learn and collaboration to ensure a rewarding experience. Progress will be reviewed in a 90-day plan. While the apprenticeship does not guarantee continued employment, there is potential for advancement into part-time or full-time roles based on mutual goals and progress.
